It’s in the details. What we do. What we say. How we choose to proceed with our lives. It’s all in the details. They help define our personality. Our happiness… Our obsessions. The details. Sometimes I can get lost in them. So it’s important to note that there is a fine line there. I am a pretty analytical person and I enjoy details and facts. I like researching things. Learning new things. Starting new hobbies. I can keep these details stored for what seems like an eternity. They are important to me. It’s funny that, when it comes to things like movies… I can never seem to keep those. I never remember much of the happenings in them. I find it irritating sometimes… But I have come to accept it that my brain doesn’t classify those details as important. Anyway, today I have a large task that will require me to be very detailed and cautious. No mistakes today. So a macro seemed rather relevant… This shot was taken of a small fungus that is growing on a tree stump in the yard. I shot it using my iPhone and olloclip… Anyway, best to you and here is to a wonderful week. - Withoutink 💚
The Moss & The Sunset… Macros. I love them. But it seems I haven’t shot any in awhile. So tonight’s macro is moss and the sun. The moss is about one inch tall… it was very difficult for me to get a shot while holding the iPhone steady. But the end result seems pretty cool, even though it wasn’t perfectly clear. Anyway, have a great night. -
This shot was taken in Sneem, Ireland. Which is situated in the SW part of Ireland, in Co. Kerry. I snapped this as I was over the Sneem river looking off into the country side. This is one of those shots I’ll always remember. It was so peaceful. So quiet for the exception of the roar of the river. It’s one of those ‘Happy Places’ forever imprinted within the back of my mind. Anyway, have a great evening :) - Withoutink 💚🍀
With the morning comes the sun. Welcome it. While you make your coffee and breakfast. Stop for a minute and look to the sky. Be thankful. It’s almost as if ‘Old Hickory’ (Andrew Jackson) is paying homage to the sun as well. Lifting his hat, as she pokes through the cloudy sky. Here is to an easy, yet productive Friday. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Stay safe. - Withoutink 💚
A dark forest. So tempting. Teasing me with its quiet beauty, shocking eeriness and the unknown. These are the woods on my property. It’s funny how during the day, they are magical… So very pretty. Not hiding much except for the squirrels, birds and a few deer. At night they become something else. Maybe I’m still unsure of them or this new neighborhood we live in. It’s all very new still. But at night with only the the moon and stars to light it up. It almost seems as though it could swallow you. I shot this photo last night as I was walking the pups. It’s interesting to note how things appear different at times. Even though they never change. Yin and yang. But still one and the same. Anyhoo. Have a great night. - Withoutink 💚
Today, I an posting a just for fun photo. No story. Just a quick picture. Ok. With it comes a question. If you require caffein in the morning. What is your method of choice? Coffee, tea, soda, Yerba mate, other? I often alternate. Mostly between coffee and tea. Btw if you were wondering… This is my chemex brewer. It’s a great pour-over brewing device… Intelligentsia is my all time favorite prepackaged coffee. While i love it, I do however prefer to roast my own beans. Anyway, have a great day. - Withoutink 💚
I saw this yesterday, at an antique store in North GA. This chaise is almost 200 years old. As you can see, it’s rather decrepit… The stuffing appears to be some sort of mixture of grassy-hay and soft fiber. The leather is dry, cracked, torn and split. The tacks that held the leather down, are mostly there. The wood, while dirty and dusty is rather beautiful. This piece was truly magnificent in it’s day. It kind of reminds me of something you would find in a large estate, or maybe even the Munsters house. It’s still very beautiful. I see something, that with great care and time could be restored into its previous state. A gorgeous black leather chaise. So my question is. Are you the type that can notice the beauty in things, regardless of state? Do you see what this could be, if just given a chance? Or do you see something way to far gone? Or something scary and gross? My answer is simple. If I had any sort of talent as a carpenter or upholsterer. I would buy this piece in a minute flat. I truly hope someone does in fact buy it. It would be sad to see this thrown away. So with that. Before we go out and judge things. Give things a chance. Look it over and see if you can notice the positives. I was shocked when a lady in the room said the piece was ‘disgusting’. ‘Who would want that’. She didn’t do it any justice. She didn’t even consider the age of the piece. I’d love to see what she looks like 200 years from now. Anyway, have a wonderful day. - Withoutink 💚
Spread the word. I’m going to run a big contest. I’m not certain what will be required. Or how exactly I will select a winner. But I do know the prize. I will buy the winner a framed photo - of their selection - from my @instacanvas gallery. I still have a bit to work out. I will release more info soon. If you love my photos and inspirational messages. Help spread the word. Imagine a free framed version of one of my photos… hanging on your wall. While I get my thoughts together regarding the contest, feel free to share your contest ideas. Maybe I’ll use one. Anyway, again help me spread the word. Feel free to repost this image. - Withoutink 💚
This is me way back in 1976.
Even back then, when the cards were all against me. I knew that if you stood all, and looked up. I could shine. In general I was a very sad child. Bad things abound. But god blessed me with fortitude and I had a grandma who loved me. I guess those two things + an internal knowledge of good saved my life. Numerous times.
Trust me when I say this.
If you feel the cards are stacked against you. That nothing will ever be easy for you. That the world just wants to crap on you. Do not ever believe it. Ever. It’s just not true. Sure, life couldn’t care less about any of us.
Life isn’t fair.
There will always be those who are just always lucky. That was never me. I struggled in so many ways. Ya, I was super introverted, I didn’t talk much. I still am. I had an enormous pile of self doubt looming over my head. But screw all that. Really. It’s just BS. I made it. I pulled myself out of many deep dark holes. Even when I thought it was over. I had something telling me to climb out. I always made it.
If I can do it. We all can.
I read so many posts on IG from kids and adults, about how life is hard. Doom and gloom. It saddens me to read them. People so very sad. I think that is one of the huge reasons I try to be inspirational. We all end up in darkness from time to time. But NEVER EVER give up. I have faith in you. Stay strong. Whoever you are. I know there is someone who needs these word right now. I know you are reading them. Stay strong. Always.
Please step away from that side. Come into the light. Smile. Try to. Look towards the heavens and the sun. They are both muses, if you need them. They will guide you.
Best to you all. Have a great weekend. - Withoutink 💚
Within this picture, there is much to see. Sort of like life. As we walk through our day, we are bombarded by ‘stuff’ — so much stuff. Sometimes it’s hard to discern what is important and what is superfluous ie.. Fluff. Sometimes it’s difficult to look at photos with so much going on. It almost hurts our eyes. Often times though, these photos hide within them a tiny thing. Often the most important thing. A thing that once seen makes all the noise go away. It is our job to look for and find it. But this then leads to something else. What is it that is important? What should i be looking for? What if i miss it? That my friend is where you come into play. We are all different. Some alike, but still different. As such the answer quite often is unique for each and everyone of us. Be you. Shine just as you can. Be special in your own way. Find what it is that is important to you. Have a nice day - Withoutink 💚
