Look upon the day, find something in nature with raw beauty. Examine it. Find the raindrop so to speak. What I mean is. If your not looking, not appreciating. How can you find the raindrop. This is a potted flower I have on my back porch. I look at it every time I take the dogs out. But I don’t always see the raindrop. Probably because I’m in a rush. But really it takes less than a minute to recognize the true beauty of nature. If you just let it fall in to place. Appreciate it. We are blessed with so many things. Surrender your time more often and explore natures beauty. You don’t need to look far… Find your raindrop. - Withoutink π
Deep day. Deep thought. Sitting on my porch sipping scotch and eating skittles. I could really go for an RC Cola and a Banana Moonpie. But I digress. The sunset was beautiful. But I opted for another view. Filtering out the warmth for something darker. As the wind blows through the trees. Swaying back and forth… as birds chirp and squirrels scamper across the yard and into the safety of the woods. Breathe tonight. Breathe it all in. Good night. - Withoutink π
It’s sad to see nature being destroyed. We had to take down a 40’ red oak today. It was dispatched very quickly by the tree company. Tomorrow, it gets logged and removed. It was recently hit by lightning and needed to go… If not inevitably it would have smashed through the house. They took two other 30-40’+ trees down as well. Anyway, I decided to take a shot of this big red oak. Apparently, we also had a den of scorpions living in it. As there are a bunch of little baby scorpions running around some areas of the tree. Fun. Have a great night. - Withoutink π
If you live your life wishing you we’re another or looked like another, you will not live your life. You’ll just waste it. Be happy in your skin. You are wonderfully unique in your own ways. You smile like no one else. You can only be you. And of all the people in the world, only you can do that the best.
Have a great weekend. - Withoutink π
I’m a lover of antiques. Of old well built tools. Things that continue to work for decades or generations. I’m also what they call a wet shaver. I use either straight razors or double edged safety razors. Take this little guy. It’s a Merkur Slant. It’s very old there is a mark in the case that denotes DRP. This indicates it was made in Germany prior to 1945. The wonderful thing about this razor is that it remained unopened, unused since it was made. In perfect condition. That is until this weekend, when I finally pulled it out of my shaving closet and opened it up and used it. I even used the razor blade that was included with it. Pretty amazing razor. And astonishingly the blade didn’t chew my face to shreds. Anyway, it’s a lovely razor and while it was very cool to have this over the years. I’m glad I finally opened her up to use it. Have a great week. - Withoutink π
Look what fell into our laps yesterday. Yup a GSD. We currently have two dogs and have been wanting a third. We did a trial run a couple weeks ago with another dog. But she didn’t get along with the others, so sadly she had to go back. Yesterday, we were offered a Rottie pup. But we declined and said we were looking for a GSD (German Shepard Dog). Low and behold the friend with the Rottie found this little fellow in the woods about 15 mins later. So he swung him by. The poor thing was covered with ticks. We removed about 15 or so. He is a very sweet puppy. We think maybe ~8 weeks old. He has been outside for a bit. The other dogs seem ok with him. Ezzy just wants to play with the little puff ball. But we have to take it slow with him. We are taking him to the vet early today, just to have them check him out… So far I think he is a keeper. So now we are looking to give him a name. That’s the hard part for us. I would love to hear your thoughts. These are what we narrowed it down too…
